I was too busy with other projects this weekend to scan in the aforementioned concept sketches, but I’ll try again to get to them this week.
In the meantime, here’s another picture of Iceland as Mars…but for the green and blue, it could be a scene from Sylvia’s Valley:
Is that a geothermal power operation? Did you see many of those across Iceland?
Yes it is, and yes I did. Barring the discovery of some remnant hot spots in the Martian crust, this actual technology may be of no use to settlers, but Krafla (this particular plant) struck me as looking a lot like the valley below the Green with its slurry lines, scattered industrial facilities, and domed buildings. Aside from the scruffy grass, even the landscape looked Martian.
